![]() We Attended Farmers Markets & Events (Again)!Ģ014 marked the year our breads started socializing again! We spent the summer handing out samples and meeting our loyal fans! We had a great time in the Susanville Farmers Market & the Sierra Valley Farmers Market. Some new additions to our bakery include an increase in hand washing stations, a specially designed roll up door, and a metal detector that every loaf of bread now goes through! It was a lot of work and we are very proud of our whole team for making it possible!Įvery year we find new grocery stores to sell our breads in and 2014 was no exception! These new stores include the Safeway in Susanville, Big Al's Market in Wheatland and Cracchiolos Market & Deli in Woodland.Ĥ. In 2014 our bakery underwent a 3rd party health audit and received Certification for our Food Safety HAACP Program. The Nevada City Union wrote a great article about it here. The kids in our community are piling their plates at lunchtime with healthy, local food this year! The new National Nutrition Regulations require all baked products served at schools to be whole wheat and our bakery proudly stepped up to the plate with whole wheat hamburger buns, sandwich breads, bagels and even pizza dough! These schools include Truckee Tahoe Unified School District, Nevada Joint Union High School District in Grass Valley and Placer Union High School District in Auburn. Happy Eating!Īs the first few sunrises of 2015 light up our bakery, we can't help but smile as we breathe in the smell of fresh baking bread and look back on the year behind us. For the first time in the history of our bakery, you can now buy our breads West of Sacramento! Beginning May 16, you will find the largest variety of our artisan breads at these stores - including many that are not available for retail anywhere else! We've made it easy for you with a comprehensive list of product by store location. Freeze the bread for up to two weeks.We recently began selling our delicious artisan breads in Nugget Markets, Paradise Foods, Food For Less and Fork Lift Grocery in Northern CA. ![]() Wrap it well in two layers of plastic wrap and then place it into a large freezer bag. If you bake the bread ahead of time, let it cool completely. That will take some planning, of course, because this bread needs a minimum of 12 hours to proof. It’s best when it’s still warm from the oven. If you really want fresh Dutch Oven Artisan Crusty Bread, it’s best to bake this bread the day you plan to eat it. ![]() Too many ingredients might throw off the levels and may ruin your bread baking efforts. ![]() Then, I added a scant cup of cheddar cheese. For example, for the jalapeno bread, I added 1/4 cup each of sun dried tomatoes and chopped jalapenos. If you plan to add in a few ingredients, just be sure to keep the amounts low. That bread was so delicious! I ate it just as it was, but it paired great with a potato-based soup. More recently, I added sun dried tomatoes, finely chopped jalapenos, and a bunch of finely shredded cheddar cheese.
